SOLAR FABRIC OPENNESS
Solar fabric openness affects the amount of light, glare, UV exposure, and outward visibility provided by the shade.

1% Openness – Provides stronger glare control, greater UV blockage, and reduced view-through. A good choice when sun protection and stronger daytime coverage are priorities.
5% Openness – Provides a clearer outward view while still helping reduce glare and UV exposure. A good choice when maintaining visibility is especially important.

Pro Tip: The lower the openness percentage, the tighter the fabric weave and the more sunlight it blocks. A higher openness percentage provides greater outward visibility but allows more light through the fabric.
LIGHT CONTROL & VIEW-THROUGH
Solar shades are designed primarily for daytime glare and sun control rather than complete privacy.

Lower Openness Fabrics – Provide stronger glare reduction, UV protection, and daytime coverage.
Higher Openness Fabrics – Provide clearer outward views while still reducing harsh sunlight.

LIFT SYSTEM OPTIONS

Cordless Lift – Provides a clean, streamlined appearance without operating chains and offers convenient everyday operation.
Continuous Loop Lift – Uses a beaded chain and clutch system for smooth, steady operation. The chain remains the same length regardless of shade position and can be positioned on the left or right side.
Motorized Lift – Provides convenient remote-controlled operation and is especially useful for larger or hard-to-reach windows.

CUSTOMIZATION & FEATURES

Roll Direction – Choose standard roll or reverse roll. Standard roll positions the fabric over the back of the tube, while reverse roll positions the fabric over the front. Standard roll is recommended for stronger privacy and light control. Roll direction cannot be changed after manufacturing.
3 1/4" Cassette Valance – Curved valance with a coordinating fabric insert for a polished appearance. Available in Alabaster, Black, Bronze, Clear Anodized, and White. Not available with motorized lift.
3" Fascia – Provides a modern, finished top treatment with a 3" extruded aluminum design. Available in Alabaster, Black, Bronze, Clear Anodized, and White.
Heat-Sealed Hem Bar – Standard option at no additional charge. Provides a clean, smooth appearance with no exposed parts and is heat welded into the shade fabric with sealed ends.
Fabric-Wrapped Hem Bar – Solar fabric wraps around the front of an aluminum hem bar and locks into place. The back exposes color-coordinated metal with matching end caps for a finished appearance.

MOTOR OPTIONS
Simple RTS motorization provides convenient remote operation for Vitale Solar Shades and is an ideal option for larger or difficult-to-reach windows.

IMPORTANT ORDERING INFORMATION

Custom-Made Product – Each Graber Essentials/Vitale Solar Shade is custom manufactured to the measurements, fabric, openness level, mounting style, and options selected when ordering.
Vitale Branding – Graber Essentials products are from the Vitale collection by Springs Window Fashions. The finished product, labels, components, and/or packaging may display the Vitale name or logo.
Fabric Width – Fabric may be narrower than the finished shade width to allow room for hardware and proper operation.
Inside Mount Light Gaps – Inside mount installations may have light gaps because of required hardware clearances and factory deductions. For stronger light and glare control, outside mount is recommended, or available side channels may be considered where applicable.
Roll Direction – Standard or reverse roll should be selected carefully because roll direction cannot be changed after the shade is manufactured.
Solar Privacy – Solar fabrics are primarily designed for glare reduction, UV protection, and view-through. Nighttime privacy may vary depending on openness, fabric color, and interior lighting.
Warranty – Vitale Solar Shades offered as Graber Essentials include a 3-year warranty. Motorization components and accessories have a five-year limited warranty, excluding batteries.

SIZE CONSIDERATIONS
Graber Essentials Solar Shades have size limits that may vary based on fabric, lift system, top treatment, and control option. Be sure to review your selected fabric and options before ordering to confirm the correct size range.
MINIMUM SHADE SIZE

Cordless Lift: 20" wide x 18" high
Continuous Loop Lift: 8" wide x 8" high
Motorized Control: 13" wide x 13" high

MAXIMUM SHADE SIZE

For Cordless Lift, Essentials Solar Shades can be made up to 78" wide x 96" high.
For Continuous Loop Lift with no cassette, Essentials Solar Shades can be made up to 128" wide x 144" high.
For Continuous Loop Lift with cassette, Essentials Solar Shades can be made up to 116" wide x 144" high.
For Motorized Lift, Essentials Solar Shades can be made up to 72" wide x 72" high.

IMPORTANT SIZE NOTES

The maximum cordless shade size is 78" wide x 96" high. Shades larger than this will require Continuous Loop Lift.
Spring Assist Continuous Loop Lift is recommended for larger shades exceeding 69 square feet. It can also be added to smaller shades for easier operation.
Motorized lift is available with standard or reverse roll and can be paired with 3" fascia. The motor can be placed on the left or right side, with right side as the standard placement.

MOUNTING DEPTH REQUIREMENTS

No Valance with Cordless Lift requires 2¼" depth for a flush mount and 1⅞" minimum depth for a standard mount.
No Valance with Continuous Loop Lift requires 3¼" depth for a flush mount and 2⅞" minimum depth for a standard mount.
No Valance with Motorized Lift requires 2¹⁵⁄₁₆" depth for a flush mount and 2¼" minimum depth for a standard mount.
Cassette Valance requires 3³⁄₁₆" depth for a flush mount and 1⁹⁄₁₆" minimum depth for a standard mount.
3" Fascia requires 3⅛" depth for a flush mount and 2½" minimum depth for a standard mount.

POWER SIZE CONSIDERATIONS FOR MOTORIZATION
For Essentials Solar Shades with motorized lift, a battery tube or plug-in transformer may be recommended depending on the overall shade size. The maximum motorized shade size is 72" wide x 72" high, which equals 5,184 square inches.

DEDUCTIONS:

When you order the INSIDE Mount option a deduction is built into the width of the fabric/material so the product will fit inside the window opening and operate correctly, and it also prevents the blind or shade—and the window frame itself—from being damaged during use.
When a product is ordered as OUTSIDE mount, the manufacturer does not make any deductions.

Inside Mount

IMPORTANT: For inside mounted blinds, measure the actual window opening size. Please do not make deductions. Our factory will take all necessary allowances to ensure proper fitting.

STEP 1 - Find the width: Measure the exact width your window in 3 places – across the top, across the middle, and across the bottom. Record the measurements rounding down to the nearest 1/8".Use the narrowest of the three measurements when ordering the width. Do not make any additional width deductions – the factory will make the appropriate deductions.

STEP 2 - Find the height: Measure exact distance rounding up to the nearest 1/8" from inside surface at top of window to the window sill at the left, middle, and right. Use the longest measurement when ordering the height.

Outside Mount

TIP: For optimal light control, allow the blind to overlap 1 1/2" – 3" on the sides, top, and bottom of the window. You'll need to add this to your measurements.

STEP 1 - Find the width: Measure exact distance to the nearest 1/8" between the outermost points where the blind is to be placed. For optimum light control, this measurement should extend at least 3/4" beyond the window opening on each side (or 1 1/2" for the entire width)

STEP 2 - Find the height: Measure exact distance to the nearest 1/8" from where top of blind will be located to the top of the window sill. If there is no sill, or if blind is to overlap the window frame, measure to the point where the blind is to reach.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

Covered by the Warranty

Original defects in materials or workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the product (unless shorter periods are noted below), assuming the product was properly installed
All internal mechanisms, components, and brackets
For three (3) years from the date of purchase: operating cords, pleated shades without looped tape, 2" horizontal vinyl blinds slats, and vertical blinds vanes
For five (5) years from date of purchase: motorization components and accessories (batteries not included), draperies, fabric covered cornices and valances, soft shades and accessories, exterior solar shades (provided they are fully raised during inclement weather and windy conditions)
Repairs under this warranty will be made with like or similar parts

Not Covered by the Warranty

Normal wear and tear
Damage caused by abuse, accidents, alterations, misuse; failure to follow instructions for measurement, installation, use, cleaning, or maintenance
Discoloration, fading, cracking, shrinking, or stretching caused by long exposure to direct sunlight
Slight color variation; natural variations in color, grain, or weave of natural materials
Slight warpage of wood blinds or shutters; excessive warpage caused by high humidity
Shipping or labor costs incurred by taking product down, re-measuring, or re-installation
Unfinished cornices and valances; Palladian shelves
Fabric used for “Customer's Own Material” orders

Warranty claims must be accompanied by the original sales receipt as well as details regarding the nature of the problem, location of the product, etc. Warranty claims may be submitted to the customer service center at:

The obligations of Springs Window Fashions are limited to the replacement or repair of parts or products found to be defective. It is at the sole discretion of Springs Window Fashions to determine whether product will be replaced or repaired.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WRITTEN OR ORAL WARRANTIES OR OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITIES. THE DURATION OF ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES FOR ANY PRODUCT IS LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE WARRANTY TERM APPLICABLE TO SUCH PRODUCT AS SET FORTH ABOVE.
